Will Roundup Kill Bromiliads? Or Salt?

I have a huge area of bromiliads that is completely out of control.  I started cutting plants around the perimeter but they have razor sharp leaves and after a few cuts I call it a day.  I've probably removed 50 or so, but that's the tip of the iceberg.  I looked online to see if roundup will kill them but couldn't find a definitive answer and bromiliads have a somewhat different growth habit than normal rooted weeds.

Anyone have experience in this area?  If so, did you apply as usual?  Any specific tips?
