That all sounds very reasonable to me. Freedom comes with responsibility.
I agree with AaronM in this case. Having all the people above pay for their own medical services would be a heartless way of running healthcare yet I'm sure the medical insurance companies would just love it if that became law. On the other hand, the examples mentioned above are events that happen every day in Hawaii and the health system copes with it. What we have now is our ICU beds filling up with unvaccinated people with Covid which means everyone else who needs those services suffer due to what I think is the selfish inaction of others.
Now, how you fix that isn't clear to me, but turning an already extremely flawed health service into an even worse "you only get medical help if you can pay for it" system doesn't help anyone.
