Half of all the children in Hawaii are now on Medicaid, new figures show.
#4
Patients on Medicaid see a doctor, usually before their illness is critical.  Cost is relatively (compared to other options) low.
People without insurance go to the emergency room, usually when their illness has become serious.  Cost can be thousands of dollars.

Who pays for Medicaid?  Taxpayers.
Who pays for emergency room visits by the uninsured?  Taxpayers.
Funny how people complain about Medicaid, but not the far more expensive cost incurred from uninsured people.
