Climate Change & The Hawaiian Kingdom
#7
Advocates of a separate Hawaiian Kingdom, or the competing Kingdom of Hawaii mostly view the political transition of Hawaii to an independent country, not one "subjugated" or "colonized" by the US, China, Japan, etc.  How would a small independent country in the middle of the Pacific fare when faced with rising tides, crops affected by excess heat, hurricanes, flooding, etc?  For instance, if a Category 5 hurricane were to make a direct hit on the Honolulu area, how would a Kingdom of Hawaii FEMA agency respond as compared with recovery efforts by the US FEMA?  Would the Honolulu skyline be dotted with uninhabitable high rises, windows smashed or blown out?  Would roads be blocked for months while Kingdom Krews hauled away downed trees and, figured out what to do with power lines, phone, internet wires?  "Which one is this?"  Who of the dedicated anti-TMT blockaders would spend months crawling through clogged storm sewers, hauling out debris so the roads wouldn't flood every rainstorm?

Follow up question:
Have any of these possibilities been considered by Kingdom advocates?
