2023 Pacific Hurricane forecast: "heightened risks for Mexico and Hawaii."

I noticed the moisture of this storm sat way north of the center or what was left of the eye and appeared nowhere else on the map.  And while Calvin passed south of our island by what, 20 miles(?), we did get the rain but little to no wind in Kurtistown.  

I've never noticed that before with the clouds all north of the vortex.  Is that different from the norm?   Is there a normal?
