I must say, Stainback is starting to look like a real highway.
Most of the way (up to N. Kulani) is now two lane. Seeing as how its State... It'll take them the rest of the year to finish the last five miles, but... Good job none the less. hopefully they trim the shoulders back a bit afterwards.
Having an alternative route to makai destinations for upper Puna, I think is a necessary priority.
More importantly EMS will have a quicker run back to Hilo if they choose to use that route.
Now all we need is a cut though to Hilo from Stainback.
