Hawaii Tourism Cool Down Looms - good or bad?

I have noticed that flights, booked near-term rather than more than 3 weeks out, have dropped quite a bit, especially on American and Alaskan. This is for flying out of Kona (KOA)

How do you know that?   Flight loads for American and Alaska airlines are not available to the public AFAIK.
