Hawaiʻi Supreme Court: Farm dwellings in ag district cannot be used as STVRs

How does a "farm dwelling" aka, a house, have a negative ability to "farm" as in growing food for commercial purposes? I would counter that by having people come and go from the farm dwelling, there becomes less of a risk of ag theft, which has become fairly serious.

That's an easy one to answer.  From the original: 

Justices agreed with the commission that a farm dwelling cannot be used as a short-term vacation rental because “short-term vacation rentals undermine” agricultural purposes and also affirmed the commission’s declaratory order on its merits."

They undermine Ag because vacation rentals are much less work and more lucrative than producing a crop is.
