On my first trip to Hawaii in 1991, on the last night of a four-night run in perfect conditions with no moon, I stepped out into the darkened dome and looked at the night sky. Our telescope operator, who in his spare time was a radio DJ in Hilo, was playing Dark Side of the Moon, and while I stood there, he turned up the volume (we'd later go on to become good friends). Standing there, dark-adapted, and seeing the universe and telescope while Brain Damage/Eclipse was playing remains one of the most emotional and awe-inspiring things I have ever experienced.
