I'm not 100% sure of the sq/ft of the roof but I can rough estimate it at about 2500 with the eaves. The guy used county data for his quote.
We know handymen that would do the job for less but they aren't licensed and have questionable insurance. My wife has a licensed occupation that requires her to use only professionals that are licensed themselves and its not worth risking a fine or worse to save a few hundred bucks. I also suspect that a lot of the handymen don't have the best equipment for this type of work.
