Bringing the telescopes into this is not helpful.
It’s keepin’ it real.
There are multiple groups which organized to protect the aina, Mauna Kea. They have extensive mailing lists which could be activated, spokespeople who might talk to reporters and bring this very real attack on endangered Hawaiian wildlife to the public’s attention. If the environment is their issue and concern.
Petitions are only slightly more effective than thoughts and prayers.
This is actual near extinction, of a species that lived on and around the Hawaiian Islands long before any humans paddled ashore.
