We only host one forum anymore. Seems most clients that were into that stuff have moved on to letting folks do their social stuff on the big boys. Though we do have one that's still alive and kicking that's built on an old TalkShop script.. in perl. And that script is so old it just keeps chugging along. It doesn't have any bells and whistles that the evolving HTML/CSS/JS kept luring script writers to adopt, only to have to upgrade as the standards kept changing. This buggah is so primitive it dishes up straight ol' HTML 2 and forget the rest of it. And it shines all these years later still spitting out TDs and TRs .. and in frames for goodnesses sake! And the community that hangs at that watering hole are diehards.. they've been together since that script was new.
I did install MyBB at some point just to take a peek.. I was poking around installing different forum packages available on the server farm I lease mine from so as to represent each to a client who was interested at the tme. They run cPanel, and it makes installing different packages, forums included, a breeze. No more setting permissions on each folder and all that... and one can select which version of the script and which version of php.. all this has come a long way since we first started hosting domains..
Anyways.. I just replied to see the reply sequence working since last night's reboot.. the log in sequence was a bit dif but hey it all works.. thanks.. kudos to the admin gremlins..
