I find that one who does indeed go through the 4 separate keystrokes it takes to set your profile to hidden 

But, when your profile is hidden, no one can see if you are online when you are online. So, it's the equivalent of hiding in the bushes.

So again because I'm fairly new, what are these 4 steps that you are referring to? I must have gotten lucky when I signed up since you are telling me my profile is not hidden, but should I decide that I want to "hide in the bushes" I'd really like to know how to do that and you seem to know these particular 4 steps so that is why I'm asking you. Also I noticed in a later post that the "hiding in the bushes" that you are referring to is that poster can't be seen when the person is online. I'm confused as to why that is such a cardinal sin or such a big deal. Can you expand on this?

You haven't really provide the information or assistance about the 4 steps that I specifically asked for so I'll take that as you don't want to answer it for some reason. I still really don't get why it's a such a big deal if someone can't see if you are online when you are online.  I can't think of any earth shattering reason why that matters unless it's a personal preference or control issue. It's an individuals choice of how they set up their profile or maybe they didn't know anything about how this works (because I didn't and just got lucky I guess) but if I hadn't you and others would have assumed that I/they did it intentionally,  which is a pretty big assumption.  That's the problem with social media JMO...
