A little history and then I will not address this "off topic" or KP's comments anymore (apologies in advance for the length).
At one point KP and I used to be friendly. We were involved in trying to take down the "bad board" and challenge the ex-GM. Just as now, I was pretty vocal, conducted a great deal of research (though I had just begun my HPPOA work) and was attending meetings that included, KP and others. At this time, I was confused about HPPOA suing itself, as I did not know or understand about the HPPC (Hawaiian Paradise Park Corporation- Watumull's company) and the details regarding the Road Maintenance Committee were hazy at best. In fact few of the people, with whom I was talking, attending meetings, and exchanging info, had any idea about the details involved that led to the creation of HPP, PHH, and eventually HPPOA.
As is my way, I RESEARCHED and had come (at that time) to a not fully informed opinion that HPP was a planned community and that 421J applied. At this same time KP, I, and others, took on the "bad board" and the ex-GM. In fact, I only started FB pages because KP felt it would be a good way to gain support and push on the "bad board" and ex-GM. And it worked- with the help of BODs Finley, Marquez, and Hoffman (whom, at the time we all called the 3 musketeers).
AS I CONTINUED TO RESEARCH...
The "bad board" was relegated to a minority. The ex-GM who ALWAYS stated that HPPOA was a "road maintenance association" was terminated. And my CONTINUED R3SEARCH revealed a startling truth- the GM though not completely correct, had been A LOT more right than I As in, 421J was NOT applicable to HPP or HPPOA at all.
So, to all of you who say that I never admit when I am wrong? Raspberry to you. Because I WAS WRONG, VERY WRONG. And when I took the information regarding the truth about HPP and HPPOA to Finley and Hoffman (with whom I had at one time been friendly) I was completely ignored, followed by a push to "convince" me to change my mind, and when that didnt work a continued group effort to discredit and ridicule me publicly. And ALL of this was done because the TRUTH did not fit with the "Three Muskateers," KP's, or the other board supporters GOAL, which was and is, to make HPPOA a "proper" home owners association.
I know a lot about planned communities. I know a lot about 421J. I know a lot because I was the one that researched them, long before HPPOA hired their troop of attorneys. I know about them, because I BELIEVED they actually applied to HPP and HPPOA. But they don't. I WAS WRONG.
There is a lot more involved in all of this. But I am tired of KP and her incessant and unnecessary attacks. IF she wishes to keep holding onto the 421J dream and the "planned community" fallacy, so be it. I at one time believed the same- even vigorously argued IN SUPPORT OF IT.
However, being a researcher I know that sometimes we do not always find what we want to find. Sometimes the information we dig up is unpleasant, sometimes it simply does not support what we want. Either way, when you research, TRULY RESEARCH because you want to know the truth, those are the "risks" a researcher takes. There is ALWAYS the risk that you were/are WRONG. And I am here to admit it.
