I have a cat that I rescued as a young feral cat. Try as I may, I can't get him to stay inside at night.
It wants out about 7:00pm and back in at 7:00am.
I bought a Tractive Gps Tracker to see where he went at night.
It maps his adventures for the entire night. He usually covers about 3.5 miles every night in a hub and spoke pattern, always returning home for a snack during the night and also to sleep.
I contacted the 3 neighbors whose yards he would roam in and asked if it was okay and asked them not to trap him.
They all agreed.
He roams because he has killed all of the rats, mice, geckos and coqui frogs in my yard and is hunting for more.
