HiloJulie - As for the regulation of big tech, how does the technology get born that goes from the old Ma Bell telephone over copper wires to today's VOIP with caller ID being able to be "scammed" that would allow someone like say me, a retired pre catheter needing boomer to obtain the equipment, software, technology as well as the knowledge to perpetrate a scam that allows me to call you and spoofs your caller ID into me being the Hawaii County Police calling you? We're coming to arrest your ass unless you pay me now!

Remember back in the Ma Bell days, when if you somehow managed to get an actual Ma Bell telephone, most likely stealing it and brought it home and hooked it up on your home telephone, the phone company could actually tell you have a phone you are not paying for by how much voltage the ringer drew by the phone company by just simply calling you?
And some people realized you could get free calls from using a toy whistle from a box of Captain Crunch that emitted a 2600 Hz tone which was the same frequency that the phone company used. Spoofing a phone number (via a "orange box") is an extension of this original "blue box" phone phreaking. Humans are endlessly inventive, just helps to provide a well-developed moral framework to guide their efforts - maybe some ideas like kuleana, pono, and aloha?

Yes, I watched the video about an open house in Aiea from last September that if I give it the low side, was attending by and presented by 98% boomers. Not too many "youngins" in sight at all. But I don't see how that video helps the average Puna resident much, but hey, you were able to give this boomer a good zing right? And just remember with all this insulting boomer talk, at one time in your life, or maybe a lot of times, a boomer wiped your ass. Maybe there could be a little "payback" from you in the way of some helping education for them doing that for you, before you have to eventually do it yourself to and for a boomer!?! Just saying.
