Why would the people and companies who invented and are behind the technology allow it to be so easily spoofed then? But then, of course, we have regular Puna folk recommending "Swatting" a potential squatter, so I guess it is a common thing to do, even here in Puna.
Because cybersecurity costs the company money, and the scams don't. Welcome to capitalism.
Yes, I know, ripping off "the establishment" back then was so vouge. I am sure suggesting that using the "swatting" (see above) technique was made by a person full of "kuleana, pono, and aloha" right?

I'm on about something like someone who would say this. Or this. At any event, keep your well-tuned specialty of talking out of both sides of your mouth intact as you are very well versed in doing that.
Right, using solar for generating electricity removes more carbon emissions than using liquefied natural gas, especially in Hawai'i which has ample solar resources, and no local LNG resources. What's your confusion?
Oh, so YOU do help the Kupuna? Silly me, here I thought you were just mostly condemning the kupuna as dumb, catheter needing old farts who deserve to be ripped off because they refuse to take personal responsibility, and posting numerous links and videos, mostly a year plus old and having nothing to do with Puna, helping our kupuna and YOUR involvement while at the same time, referring to my comments of helping various elderly neighbors here in the Acres as "made up stories."
The "how to avoid a scam" information is both timeless and relevant to Puna - helps to actually read and watch it. Leilanidude is the one that accused "you invented old people that you help out?" You ok?
Good for you however! As for you being studly, I'd say you would have better luck at being a spokesman for Viagra versus being a Media Engagement and Digital Campaigns Manager.
Take the blue pill?
Yes, it would be nice to get some more up to date updates, but as I said earlier, I'd say at this point, Rob should pull out the famous Gen X method of demanding to speak to his webmaster's manager. It is always so effective.
Think the Karen thing is actually a younger boomer thing, but maybe some older genXers - everyone is on the spectrum after all. But Rob is too cool for that - having discovered Haight-Ashbury in '65 and seen Hendrix's "last" show at the Isle of Wight, he'll probably stay groovy no matter.
As for the title of this thread, I'd say the dialog has been spot on, even if, it was plastered full of childish and immature obnoxious blinking and irritating flashing colors and GIF's ala the mentality of kicking an injured old boomer kupuna friend when he is down on his luck after potentially being a victim of a webmaster who may not know what he/she is doing.
Um, you posting while "happy, sad, ill, angry, hungry, drunk, stoned or simultaneously watching Sponge Bob."?
randomq - I grew up on Atari ST...
Wow, that Atari ST is new to me (or maybe just forgotten as the neural network fails), but thanks for the missed bit of computing history (check out this online emulator)! My gateway was making the turtle goto on the Apple II's at school and BASIC on the Commodore 64 at home, which used regular cassette tapes for storage (could even play the code back as "music" - take that Brian Eno!) Later friends had an Amiga and Compuserve/Prodigy, but modems and networking had to wait till I had DOS on a 486dx at home. Yep on the MUDs, MUSHes, and MOOs - still drop into LCS from time to time as its content has aged well IMHO. Had forgotten about "Worms World Party", that was a thing for a bit, we also took over the basement computer labs on weekends to play Starcraft and Rainbow Six:Rogue Spear, both coop and versus, for days at a time, only taking breaks to run across the street for pizza or Chinese food (also got an education in there somewhere I swear :) As for Scorched Earth, I might even have a disk floating around as I kept some tech bits and bobs back to the 5 1/4" actually floppies and 386 motherboards - let me know if I should make you a copy! ;) Yes also on FTL and their other title Into the Breach - good pixel-graphic puzzle games for any Punatic looking to exercise the old grey matter.
