Yak: Taxpayers are not willingly giving them their money like you are. Making that choice to willingly give support to the oligarch pedophiles is the difference.
Just making excuses to excuse the same thing that’s just presented in a different light. And one could reasonably argue that oligarch pedophiles are the ones seeing that the oligarch pedophiles are funded with our taxpayer dollars – and doing so willingly.
Yak: The fact that you can't tell that I and the judge are saying the same thing is concerning. Section 230 only protects big tech from lawsuits based on posted content, where these lawsuits were based on design features, so section 230 was not in play. That's why the related articles keep using words like "circumvent" and "route around" the section 230 protections. You're willingness to double and triple down on your hot take instead of just doing a bit more reading of the sources provided by those more in the know just leaves you looking more than a bit foolish.
The statement I originally made was “And it looks like the good old Section 230 may have a new crack in it.” which, if one would comprehend words, means that the big tech companies who once thought their legal “Trump card” was the provisions of Section 230 to be able to do more or less anything they desire, “may have a crack in it.” Further, these cases are being heralded into being on the same legal grounds with the lawsuits that brought down big tobacco. And what you’re saying is not anywhere near what the judge(s) is(are) or myself for that matter are saying.
Yak: Actually, I looked at Punaweb in the evening and said, nah, it's a big wide world out there with plenty of other things to see and do, and went and read a book (gotta find out how those moon anarchists are going to make themselves a better world)
Yes, of course, you and everyone else who posts on PunaWeb are always captivated by that big wide world out there as you post long winded posts on PunaWeb.
Yak: Oh, whinging is usually step one, but then it's best to take other steps to actually address the issues. That's what the other many hours of the day are for when not online.
As for all the hours spent “not online” silly me, I thought those hours were to be used to get drunk, stoned and angry and all that? Oh, and watch SpongeBob – on a continuous loop. Right?
Yak: So you're an anarchist then comrade? It's always funny how people get hung up on labels like progressive, leftist, or anarchist but when you describe your goals and labors - helping everyone obtain food, housing, health care, and education - and all of a sudden many of them are on board. The direct action involved from raising awareness, to helping file for benefits, to pushing for legislation, to volunteering with Food Banks or Habitatate for Humanity, to showing up to help install a solar system or catchment tank is all that really matters IMO regardless of what you call it.
Yeah, like getting hung up on “boomer” this and “boomer” that? And I don’t think one needs to be an anarchist to just be a kind decent human being, but then again, after seeing what America has become in the last 10 years, I am rethinking just what human decency is.
Yak: You inability to understand the Wachowskis or Baudrillard is an indictment of your lack of comprehension, not their writings.
Yeah. While my comment has nothing to do with any inability to understand something but try filing that original paragraph as a legal brief or motion. Good luck!
Yak: My professional background put me at the interface between biotech companies and the FDA.
And that makes you able to understand “lawyer speak” how?
Yak: You are a boomer, by definition, given your age. So is Rob, and Edge, and others. As such all y'all are reps for your generation along with many others and their collective voting record, which is what I talking about, regardless of how any one individual voted. Much like you said "HECO exists because the voters allow it", many of the current challenges exist because the voters have allowed it, a majority of which are boomers because of demographics. Them's just the facts ma'am.
Yeah, so then, if I am a representative of ALL boomers and my generation along with many others and their collective voting record would be the same as saying that if a native Hawaiian man who robs 7-11, kills a clerk or two, then ALL native Hawaiian men are representatives of men who rob 7-11's and kill a clerk or two. So, no matter how you wish to slice it or dice it, that is EXACTLY what you’re saying.
Yak: Baby steps can be yet one more renewable project in solar, wind, geothermal, etc, not sipping fossile instead of doing shots by the barrel and claiming you don't really drink anymore.
Back with the bottom of the bucket intellect of me being drunk again! Works so well for ya Yak! As for solar, wind, geothermal, etc., this drunk old lady says bring it on baby! But, and again, that is not going to happen overnight. So, if, over the last 20 –30 years, we had gone from burning bunker oil to say LNG, while simultaneously developing wind, solar and geothermal, instead of the equivalent of an orangutang beating his “drill baby drill” chest that has, to this day, kept wind, solar and geothermal in the equivalent “dark ages” think how much better we all would be.
Yak: You'd be wrong, again.
If your occupation is one that is paid for by the taxpayer, then, one can say, you’re sucking the taxpayer’s teat. Right? But then, one could argue; I’m not WILLINGLY paying you. Right?
Yak: If they don't pertain to you then why do you keep cherry-picking them from the list and trying to say I'm claiming they do?
Well, being clear, you’re not claiming anything. You’re saying that I am all those things on your list.
Yak: Then why all the "I'm treated so unfairly, why doesn't someone stand up for me" dramatics?
Remind me again who started a thread complaining about how Rob moderates PunaWeb.
Yak: I'm not the one complaining about how hard it is to read long posts - doesn't bother me in the least, even with plenty of emojis.
Oh, I know that. I was just demonstrating your inherent hypocrisy, of which you’re clearly blind to. Nonetheless, emoji away! I wish I could have filed legal briefs and motions with emojis! That poop emoji would have been extensively used!
Yak: Again, actually point me to where I said ALL... I wait again.
OK, I’ll capitulate that you did not say ALL. Just “most.” Or as you stated above with the “being a representative of” everyone in “my generation.”
Yak: That's one way to skin the cat, somewhat popular in Puna although more communal living arrangements than squatters (housing crisis strikes again), and would lead to less carbon being emitted which is actually the longest lasting legacy for most of our lives. Maybe you missed an opportunity?
True that! But think of the carbon belching that everyone on SNAP would create. I mean, all those plastic cards have to be made. The energy expended in increased computers to run it all. And since everyone is on SNAP, no one would be able to afford lesser carbon belching vehicles, or EV’s or hybrids, so Puna would be smogged down with everyone driving 1970’s big block V8’s that at best get 12 MPG. Damnit, I missed such a golden opportunity!
Yak: "Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does. It is up to you to give [life] a meaning" - JP Sartre, again.
Yet, (most) boomers are to blame for everything wrong? Again.
Yak: Few of us toss some code and pics back and forth to see what creative options are possible during the upgrade glitch, randomq even invites to join in, you complain about the "blinking flashing neon-colored pages", repeatedly. Many people take issue about your approach to conversing the community here, you complain that people take issue "no matter what I say." On and on... have you stopped to consider that you may have a roll in all this?
You know, your use of the term “many people” - hmm, where do I always seem to hear that? And of course, being as irritating as possible is a God given right. Right?
Yak: Anyhow, something to consider - hope you had a nice drive and Kona-side protest. Hope you enjoy your time with your family.
Oh, the drive was great! I did have to yell at Barney a few times as the little bastard was driving at 110MPH on the Saddle while my husband and I sat in the back seat sucking down the first quart of Jack Daniels and hot boxing a few big fattys of the “skunk!” Family is doing fine, but man, they are still passed out as I post this from the drive back after attending the Kona protest and then helping my husband and I drink the 2nd and 3rd quarts of Jack Daniels and rolling up a few more doobies and puffing them down! Frickin’ lightweights! But their inability to get their ass out of bed affords me the time to post on PunaWeb! Their loss is YOUR gain!
Oh, one more thing. Remember when you said this?: Gotcha - so Fuk ICE and Fuk da CBP - sounds like protest sign slogans, have see if they show up in Hilo / Kona.
At the Kona protest, quite a few signs that said EXACTLY that. I even saw one lady with a professionally printed shirt that had that exact slogan!
I can imagine the type of lawyers you're dealing with on your patent application considering this is the guy you recommended to a PunaWeb poster for their estate planning.
