don't forget that most varieties of plumeria are deciduous even on the hilo side outside of some southeast asian varieties....so you will have skeleton trees during the colder seasons the evergreen variety is pretty expensive in price since they are more desireable...how about some various jasmines like tahitian jasmine that can grow into larger tree/shrub forms? Also Michaela alba is very aromatic and other varieties of michaelas.....other great flowering varieties include shower trees, bauhinia / tree orchids and the purple (oops forgot the name - part of accacia family - theres quite a few growing in waimea area that bloom late may/june)
