Well, I don't know what forecasters really "do" these days, other than repeat what the computer tells them. And the computers were totally wrong about this one. It was supposed to die down way before it got here, and last night it looked like a Cat-4 was headed straight for us. I went to bed last night thinking, "oh crap." I can't help but believe there is very a unique air pressure phenomenon here at the Big Island (i.e., 2x Big Huge Mountains sticking up in clouds messing up hurricanes) that is not accounted for at all in the computer models. Whatever it is, it's good for us.
Of course, we can't turn our back on Flossie just yet. She is still here, technically, with the ability to harm us yet. So keep one eye on her... she is a strange one.

Time is an illusion, but a handy one. Without it, we would not be able to hear sounds, and without that ability, we would have no music.
