Yeah Tahunatics,
America has had it head in the Saharan sand. Sometimes I wonder if, after all the oil is gone, they will discover it was the lubricant for the tectonic plates and have to reinvent it and pump it back into the earth for the next 150 years.
While I am somewhat confident that alternatives will be found for land transport and ocean transport I wonder what will happen to air transport. Jet engines take a lot of octane.
I suspect future generations will curse us for our greed and short sightedness.
In 1972 I owned a seven passenger vehicle which got 40 mpg. Had a governor on it set for 55 mph. Everyone thought I was nuts ( I know, I know).
