PGV funds may become available for improvements

The article describes how over $2 million is currently set aside by Puna Geothemal Venture for benefit of Puna and there is no clear purpose to the money.

Dominic Yagong is proposing changes to make the money available for a broader range of purposes.

As I recall the fund was intended to be spent within a certain radius of the geothemal plant.



"As it stands, there's about $2.2 million in the fund "just sitting there" because there's not as heavy a need as there used to be to relocate residents affected by the plant, he said."

If the money was originally earmarked to help relocate residents, I feel those residents should have a say in where that money should go to.

Sounds like Yagong wants to take from the people and put it to a larger public.
