Actually, I would think long and hard before moving children here.
By doing so, you're choosing a life for them of living a place they will never "belong" because they weren't born here and their parents weren't. Even if they don't go to public school, they will be subject to racism, which pervades the culture here.
Don't make this decision based on dreams of leaving the city for rural life without really doing your homework on the social world for your kids. Retirees and singles are deciding just for themselves.
