The only one with an active community association, CC&Rs and a water system that is accepting new hookups (for now, at least) is Hawaiian Shores Recreation Estates (HSRE). You will see this also called Hawaiian Shores Recreational Estates or Hawaiian Shores Recreation as well as other variants. The key is that Hawaiian Shores (no Recreation, no Estates, etc) is a separate subdivision with no CC&Rs, no community association, etc.
And just to make it more confusing, they are right next to each other. The key is look for the white line on the road as you are heading south/south-west of Kahakai Blvd -- when you cross the line, you're in HSRE.
