Is life safer in Honolulu? Houston? Chicago? Boston?
You don't have to dig back seventeen years for a horror
story in any of those locales.
Relatively speaking I think Puna is probably average to low average.
One reason I say this is that the State of Hawaii is rather generous with it's EBT cards.
Most of our small time crime is not desperation crime or gang driven crime, it's rural boredom crime.
These kinds broke into Paul's Garage and stole some Turkey Jerky. Real smart.
Broke into the Pawn Shop and stole two cheap wrist watches.
Are we supposed to load our shotguns over this and lay awake all night?
