No, the Polynesians brought dogs, pigs, and moa in the canoes.

There were dogs here in Hawai'i when Cook arrived.
Dick, I'm not telling you you have to accept some other culture's values. I'm just saying be aware that certain cultures have power and presence and the powers that be don't necessarily want to wage war against them.
hikatz didn't say people were raiding for dogs. She said her roosters were messed with, which was terrible. She said that dogs that go missing may end up being used in awful ways. I read "missing" as dogs that strayed, not kidnaped dogs, but maybe that's what she means and if so, she can clarify.
Of course I don't support this inhumane activity. Of course I care about people's pets and don't want them to be harmed.
Still have a gut reaction every time I hear someone talking about all the guns and mean dogs they intend to have to protect themselves. Yuck. That kind of attitude is why I would never want to move to Texas, and I hate to see it be talked about as the answer to the social problems here.

So some of you are of that mindset, guns and dogs, and support each other, I'll continue to be at least one voice pleading for people to think of solutions other than violence.
