ACARI----Is this a life saver or a scam?
#4
Acai is in many products and juices now, including my old friend Emergen-C which comes in several flavors and is a genuinely good product.

It's a scam if it's supposed to cure ALL and costs more than it should.

You do not need to buy it from a special company, and they probably overprice it.
Stop in at Island Naturals in Hilo next time you're there and ask about it. The folks working at the supplement desk are very knowledgeable and don't try to push stuff at you.

It's known that anti-oxidants are very good to take because they scavenge free radicals that can turn cells cancerous. I'm pretty sure Acai is a good anti-oxidant, but it isn't the only one by any means. Blueberries is another fruit that's recently been rediscovered as a potent anti-oxidant (they sell 100% blueberry juice).

Tom, you mentioned you were 65. Island Naturals has a senior discount day. I think it is Tuesday. (and no, no relation to anyone at the store, but I like them and am going there today for their vitamins 20% off two Fridays a month sale, so they're on my mind.
