Drug companies don't make money on drugs they can't patent. Once a patent expires and a drug goes generic even, the good money is gone. Drug companies don't do R&D on substances they will be unable to patent.
There are many wonderful herbs out there, better than pharmaceuticals with fewer side effects, but there is NO COVERAGE for supplements and herbs with health insurance. Not because they don't work, but they aren't remotely as profitable, so the lobbyists keep them shut out. The AMA works too closely with the drug companies. It's a LOVELY system.
Question to centipede:
if pot fries a person's brain permanently, then shouldn't my GRE scores (picking an objective test) from a test I took after some 20 years of pot consumption have reflected that? Mine were about the same or better (770, 99.9 percentile college grads applying to grad school) as my SAT which I took shortly before I ever tried anything. (774, 99.9 percentile, general HS college bound). (And the GRE was taken on no sleep thanks to my stoopid neighbors fighting all night on the other side of the duplex wall [

Where's the objective evidence on permanent brain fry?
