I did not know that Home Depot did not ship here. That is crazy since they have a store here. Sears (who have some pretty good tools) does ship to their stores where you can pick up.
You will find that a lot, people that do not ship to Hawaii. The best vendors are people that use USPS, as that is the cheapest way to "mail" things. Amazon.com uses USPS, but many of their independent vendors do not. Someone should compile a list of the best online sites for shipping to Hawaii, that would be really helpful.
Our cat has to have special prescription dry food because of allergies and not a single vet here has it or will order it for us. I just had to pay $68 shipping for five bags of cat food as they only ship 2nd day air to Hawaii. There are no "ground shipping" rates for us with UPS or Fed Ex.
We sent over 30 boxes of books and about 20 boxes of important things that we would need before the container arrived. Most of those 20 boxes were "flat rate" boxes, all you can fill them with for $12.
Media rate works great for the books, CD's,DVDs, papers and any other media you have. It is very cheap, but ours too 6 weeks to get here. My mailman in CA jokingly told me the media rate stuff sits on the docks till they have enough to fill a container.
