It's true, vitamin D deficiencies are more common than many believe. I myself suffer from a diagnosed chronic condition related to vitamin D. Unfortunately, it's important to add that any study I've ever read concerning the issue indicates that oral supplementation of vitamin D is very minimally effective as very little is effectively utilized and high levels of free vitamin D in the blood stream can create toxic effects. I think the evidence would suggest that short of absorption type D compounds like "calcipotriene" or its ilk, going out in the sun is about the only real option. Probably not a good idea at any rate to just cram down a lot of pills.
