Just so you know... if you don't have an address posted.... we are suppose to attempt to get an address from you personally.
We only go by each house once. If your not home... we get a description of the house and someone supposedly will come by later to personally ask you questions.
Therefore, you have a better chance of getting the census in the mail if we don't actually write down the address that is listed on the house and or end of the drive way sometimes.
But then the stupid census bureau trains everyone in America the same exact way and we have to follow it to a Tee. It just simply doesn't work in many rural area's where much of the population does not get their mail at their house... however they are asking us to collect the house address if it's posted.
Technically... Even if it is posted... we should still ask people if that's where they get their mail and if it's not... then we should get the PO Box.... But that takes tooooooo mucccccch tttttiiiiimmmmee and we have superiors across the country that want their damn bonuses at the expense of communities like Puna.
Don't get me wrong... Technically we are just canvassing and collecting addresses and mapspots. The official census hasn't even started.
I really have doubts that it will be correct.
I have more feelings that the population growth will not even be close to what it was perceived when the traffic counts were taken 7 years ago.
1 Million dollars has already been spent on planning the H-130 freeway to a company that worked as a liasion between state officials and a group of 25 us to plan the future of H-130 for the next 30 years.
I still don't have much faith in what that whole process turned into.
I myself was able to turn the tide on a vote by holding 6 of my votes off on a vote we were taking and being able to stack them all onto a subject that I felt was dear to me and those that I represented....
And that was the Safety of the overall Highway. That vote was won by one vote... Had I not stacked my votes... we could have been looking at something else as a priority on this $56 million dollar project.
One little itsy bitsy person like me turned the wave on a $56 million dollar project at one point.
