Good point and yes. Problem is there's a lot of non-renewable stuff in "renewables." It's worth considering whether or not trading "oil-addiction" makes sense to trade for "lithium" addiction in the case of EV's. Probably the worlds most prominent lithium supplier is Bolivia, and you might expect that Morales is not too interested in giving that resource away in the same manner that the some of the ruling families in the Mid East might.
Unfortunately, again, there are no alternative technologies that make any sort of substitute for oil. This is important. Maybe, someday. Today, none.
