Sorry for replying to a personal jab Carol.
I really see a lot of great things that I think your class could do with a blog.
You could set it up so that you are the administrator and have each of your students have their own individual blogs.
Those blogs you could have the feeds fed to one direct classroom blog so that the classroom blog is constantly changing.
You could even solicit ads or if your blog gets popular, you may even find people wanting to put ads on your site.
That money could go into a direct fund to provide scholarships to those kids that are blogging on the site.
There is really a lot that can be done.
The Elementary kids at Kamehameha learn to Blog before they learn to make websites from my understanding of the curriculum.
