Totally agree. Having a screen name is the accepted norm for participating in most forums. It is not hiding behind anonymity. As one makes acquaintance with people, one can choose to share contact info and names via PM.
It is much safer.
There are psychos out there who will fixate on your job, contact your work, tell them lies, and all sorts of bizarre harassment. (Lawsuit is one I hadn't heard yet.) I know people who've gotten into real messes.
What IS important is that you operate through ONE screen name on a site and don't start playing with ghostnics, as that's a great way to lose all credibility.
