I looked at a lot of properties with catchment before I ended up buying on a County water property, and I never planned to drink the water from a catchment system. Ever. My concern was getting water purified to the extent I felt good about showering in it.

There's free County water one can pick up. Granted it's a minor hassle, but why risk drinking disintegrated decayed coqui frog?
