yep, the reason I started a new topic was because you're NOT in the habit of doing it and it wasn't about you. Actually I had emailed Rob a couple weeks ago mentioning that it was driving me nuts.
Re preserving what a person says, particularly something controversial - yes, that's a legitimate reason to quote, especially if it's a flame. However, copying and pasting the specific portion makes for a neater post than a big sloppy reply with quote.
I'm not talking about that situation. I'm talking about when people hit reply with post to copy some post that might even be the last post, is totally not controversial, and then say something to the tune of "I agree." I've even seen posts that are purely the copied post and NOTHING added. This totally confuses me. What is that supposed to be about?
