Be aware of this stunt--one I learned to be widely applied during my term working in the justice system.
Very commonly especially in an area with a lot of grow sites people have a network of people whom--if worried that police are sniffing around their project will make a phone call and have a "friend" conveniently close by touch off a few rounds. Someone in the neighborhood invariably panics and calls 911, and the "cop bait" takes the the cops away to a more pressing project. It happens all the time and works very effectively. A lot of time rather than firearms people in the know keep a case of large lightbulbs around for just such circumstances, as one can "bait cop" without any risk of repercussions, as the sound of the big ones is very much like a handgun. Whoops, officer I dropped these lightbulbs.
Dumb kids don't often clean up the glass, so if you start to see a lot of busted lightbulbs around you'll get a clue as to what the stunt is.
