Gunshots heard all around HPP lastnight

I guess I should mention a weird little incident that happened yesterday. I was at the stop sign of my street waiting to turn onto Paradise. There was a dark-colored old truck coming up Paradise. There was a boy and a girl sitting on a rock wall waiting for their parents or a bus near the stop sign. I see kids sitting there often. The truck sped by and as it passed and I was turning the truck let out a loud backfire. The boy clutched his chest and said "I'm hit!" Then the kids laughed. I hope it's this new truck running around backfiring, but I doubt it as I've heard gunfire in HPP many times over the last 20 years. But come to think of it I haven't heard gunfire for at least a couple of years near my street. I thought I should tell you about this because it's such a co-incidence that this happened on the same day this post was started.
