Some are being pretty unfair with their use of statistical data. When reporting firearms "deaths" it's only useful to provide that data in the context of safety or magnitude of the issue when one acknowledges that suicides are a very significant portion of the data. Many studies exist and the among different demographics rates vary, but suicides in most cases account for roughly 40 to in some areas near 80 percent of all fatalities. When this understanding is applied to the data it changes the perspective of the actual risk a good deal. It's only fair to point that out. The omission of this aspect of the issue is glaring and suggests an attempt to advance an agenda rather than a good faith offering towards an honest discussion.
