I would call attention to CA-34 Budgetary Independence of the Legislative Auditor. Here in the land of toothless Sunshine Laws and sometimes timid Ethics Commissions, we need every conceivable watchdog working at full strength. The Legislative Auditor needs every reasonable measure of independence, and financial independence is key.
