One last effort to clarify: None of my comments on either thread are meant to "take exception" with John's post. I'm only concerned that the OP gets a chance to have her question answered without having to sort through a debate about real estate ethics. That said, because people have been hurt by less than forthright agents in the past, discussion of real estate ethics is a relevant topic in and of itself.
By no stretch of the imagination can saying that Fern Acres gets a lot of rain be considered a violation of the Fair Housing Act! But I do think the fact that this is an ongoing conversation is a good example of how the written word can easily be perceived in an unintended way by someone in the wider audience--and how hard it is to fix that once it's done. Agents have to be careful...that's all I'm saying.
And, to holahan, yes, in the other thread, I was trying to lighten it up a bit, hoping that people who have good first-hand info on Fern Acres would not shy away from participating in the thread!
