Some features that attracted me were continual archiving of posts so that old material could be referenced and eliminate (mostly) the need for the same questions and answers to be repeated endlessly. Moderator: Slow is subjective. It will be a function of your browser, modem, content and internet service. Punaweb is a rather simple load for most computers. I cannot know why your experience might be considered by you to be slow.


Is there a technical reason punaweb does not allow any embedding of pictures or other media?

Moderator: No. There is no technical reason. The ability to do so is available. I have chosen to keep it turned off for three reasons: A) Many, if not most, of Puna is on dial-up service and heavy media loads can grind the forum load time down. B) I like the fact that people get to present themselves intellectually and are not prejudged or misrepresented by age, gender, appearance or whatever. C) while photos and files and videos might offer some limited attractions nothing on Punaweb prevents their use or access in other ways by link or whatever.

Is it a matter of resources? server? financial?

Moderator: Probably a little bit of each.
