Edge - People who watch this believe it’s how you reasonably “discuss” a topic. It often replaces reading, researching and analyzing the subject matter.
I appreciate that experience and perspective as it seems like you've come to a place where you're largely able to chuckle at the absurdity of it all. For me, when the inability to admit mistakes and learn from them combines with a willingness to distort information and lie that contributes to people being unable to feed their family or access healthcare, or being illegally detained and murdered in the street, I find it hard to grant it much leeway. If people actually cared, they wouldn't vote for and continue to support the politics that have created these hardships and tragedies, then attempt to undermine basic facts and try to offer unread AI-generated nonsense as "solutions".
But I guess that's all just yakking about trivial matters - lol? (better get back out to the fields it seems, those banana pancake ingredients aren't getting any cheaper. Maybe we should just build data centers instead so the nerdreich can get even louder, more widespread and persuasive at telling us otherwise?)

Since it sounds like I need to increase my IQ, we had bananas and rice for breakfast. Bananas were free (they grow like weeds in Hawaii) and I doubt we used $1.00 of rice but lets call it $2.00 just to satisfy the critics. We performatively spritzed it with Braggs Apple Cider Vingar - let's just round that up to $1.00.
Total cost for breakfast for three < $3.00.
What did you guys have?

@ Punatang - the ultra-lefties that attack everyone here will never allow you to win even if you are 100% correct. They insist that we should keep giving more to the "poor" instead of helping them to better themselves, and refuse to admit there is fraud throughout the system or even to want to reduce the fraud. Never can understand that, BTW.

What makes that statement silly is the notion that fraud is something unique to poor needy people. Which is absolute nonsense.
In fact, fraud is a human trait. It is endemic throughout. And, ya know, there is way more corporate fraud than there is welfare fraud. There has been massive amounts of companies prosecuted for defrauding the government over the covid bailout funds. And, those weren't single mothers with a clutch of kids on welfare living in the slums of Puna. They were big fat hustlers.
How many poor people commit tax fraud verses rich? What was all that noise about draining the swamp? Nah, the asshole who said he'd do that is the fricking king of the swamp. And, I don't hear any repugs bitching about that!
What's pathetic is when so called conservatives use the excuse of welfare fraud to cover their distain for people in need. That is disgusting. That is shameful. And, I'll bet, a good share of them call themselves Christians. That is, in my mind, it's amoral, criminal. If you all want to bitch why aint you bitching about the moron in the WH enriching himself to the tune of billions of dollars? If a democrat did it you'd be livid. But the orangutan? Nah, it's better we pick on a needy mother in Puna. That is solid poof you're a man, right?
By my measure, if folks ain't gonna bitch about the fat cats getting rich on fraud any bitching about the needy is 100% BS.

I believe there is fraud among SNAP recipients. Even bigger more widespread fraud among those who vote to deny funding for people getting food. Never understood why no one talks about that.
I had a fruit smoothie for breakfast, coconut (free), mangoes (free), ice cubes (free), lilikoi (free) kefir made with cultures purchased in Japan and reused from batch to batch (cost of milk, $.20??), protein powder with low lead ($.20??). Oh, and high octane Peruvian coffee, beans purchased from Costco. With soy milk.

Somewhat, but a little less Elvis Costello (I used to be disgusted, now I’m just amused) aiming more toward Sosan (When in harmony with the nature of things, your own fundamental nature, and you will walk freely and undisturbed.)

Consider that the wealthy were given tax breaks worth $400B/year, but this isn't "fraud" because it was drafted by Congress and signed by the President.

Keep it local.
SNAP is local when it concerns people in Puna, recipients in Puna.

Thanks for sharing Edge! Sounds like a great Puna breakfast for > $2.00 - adding it to the cookbook! I read that about the protein powder - what solution (brand) did you find that you feel confident about?
PS: someone is using some weird AI. I typed in "Tang" and got breakfast drink (less than $1.00 per serving)- and of course the dynasty. No snakes. Go figgah
