Protests in Hilo elsewhere in Hawaii - June 14th next
"Given his current inability to read and comprehend several sentences at a time, it seems unlikely Obie is bound going to make it to the end of the jet setting era, especially as new roadblocks and delays to the energy transition crop up here in Hawaii. I'll never understand why a set of geriatric half-wits thought they were well positioned for a time of enormous political, social, and environmental instability, but that's what they voted for. I guess when/if things get to the point of having to cast the "useless eaters" into the compost bin of history some may learn a bit too late the value of supporting a culture based in Aloha and with some inherent regard for kapuna."

I don't understand how you get away with this kind of crap but whatever. Go stand on a street corner and wave your silly signs.
Wanna do something about climate change in Hawaii, get out while you can.

"I take it from your replies that you consider cuts to Medicaid for people in Puna, funding for clinics in Puna, assisted living or nursing home care for retired residents of Puna, and supplemental food assistance for children …

is just one big joke?"

Yeah you are all one big joke. Why not wait and see what really happens instead of believing the lies coming from the liberal media.
Obie - I don't understand how you get away with this kind of crap but whatever.
Apparently the same way you get away with posting Trump related stuff that has nothing at all to do with Hawaii - freedom of speech, I guess? (insomuch as Mod2 and Rob tolerate it). Is one of your multiple houses made of glass, because there's lots of lava rocks here in my yard as well... Maybe I was wrong about climate change, as snowflakes are making an appearance in Puna(web). (And so forth, I'll be here all week - don't try the veal, it's murder ;)

But please, Obie, do share the totally local and related to Hawaii media sources that are not lies - I tend not to listen to sources that legally claimed their shows "cannot reasonably be interpreted as facts", but am open to new suggestions. Do show us how you stay so well informed about the impending fiscal impacts to Hawaii.

Honolulu checking in with their June 14th event details - be prepared for lots of signs, silly and elsewise. Others can bring their pearls to clutch.
"“E iho ana o luna, e pi‘i ana o lalo.” The top will fall, and the bottom will rise.
Kū i ka pono. Aloha ʻāina. No American kings."

-----------
They love their hand-wringing too much.
Conservative media also lies. Better to consume non-USian media, less handwringing, more WTF.
Why not wait and see what really happens

Yes, why not? For how long? Until it’s over and done with?
It always surprises me the sheer number of ways people can be convinced to vote against their own best interests. Like voting against your own neighbors who you regularly have contact with in Puna, so billionaires who wouldn’t step foot in Puna if someone paid them, who wouldn’t give you the time of day, who think you’re something to trickle down upon - yes let’s give those billionaires the money instead of healthcare for those without.
