The Convert a Tables at Wal-Mart garden house look interesting but too overpriced for me. Also pretty compact.

Yeah, they weren't cheap, but I'd already spent more than that on a metal set that rusted...cushions replaced multiple times...we even repaired and repainted. Not worth the time and $$. I paid $132.00 for each bench and shipping, but I'm good for the next 8-10 years. Just so you know, the Walmart ones, while they look the same, are not the same brand as mine. I did look at those, but didn't give any info on how much weight they hold or who made them. Again....more than pleased with mine.

I can't even remember how many picnic tables have rotted outside here. I was hoping somebody would make one that can handle rain. Seems worth looking into.

You know, Kenney, I've been here 12 years and my husband and I have done many home projects. Most all of them, we've done 3 times....first the easy way...then the cheapest way...and finally, the right way. I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. Spend your $$ wisely and you'll never be disappointed.[

If you want it to last outdoors, the best way is to build it with composite materials like Trex or NewTechWood sold at home depot and other places. It's expensive, but it will not rot or get eaten by termites.

Good advise Pj. We've already spent too much building tables that got all slimy and rotted. Glad to hear that there is a table so highly recommended!

Stay away from wood.
Lowe's has a steel frame, resin top and HDPE plastic seating for $200. Doesn't come assembled so you should be able to get it into your vehicle. Periodically treat and keep an eye on the steel frame. https://www.lowes.com/pd/LIFETIME-PRODUC...E_PRODUCTS&CAWELAID=&kpid=3773779&CAGPSPN=pla&k_clickID=91f44fcb-6f62-4c5d-864f-cab225f2e429&gclid=CjsKDwjw6qnJBRDpoonDwLSeZhIkAIpTR8JmGmcBpqNzJekzv3XQ5nUXe73ehcx45uF2fyFCwDgXGgJSivD_BwE -Veritas odium parit”(Terence 195–159 BC))-"Truth begets hatred".

I've never checked out QVC before, but did after your post. The bench looks perfect for our needs too. It's great that they ship here.
We've been having problems with Amazon not shipping exercise equipment to Hawaii, so went with Sears. The darned recumbent bike has had it's motor replaced 4 times in 8 months. Never knew Sears policy says it has to break down 4 times in Warrenty period before they will replace/reimburse. I think we mght try the QVC brand when we get the reimbursement as Sears transfers over the old 100+$ Warrenty to replacement, so we already lost 8 months of it. I'm done with Sears. |
