It matters a lot to all the family owned businesses that would go bankrupt and to people who would rather take a long drive, have a nice day at the beach and shop instead of dealing with the traffic that a Costco would create.

Yes, driving over to Kona in my beat up old car and going to the beach once every six weeks is quite a luxury.

I'm still trying to understand how spending your money in the Kona Costco instead of a Hilo Costco will keep the family owned businesses from going bankrupt.

Unless you're talking about those family owned gas stations.
