Whatever these 2 kids end up doing, I am quite sure the world will be better because of them.

And while, yes, family, culture, aloha and all that are important things, but I am also quite sure that their intellect will guide them past any ingrained generational ignorance and stupidity, and they will become some of tomorrow's great leaders.

"ingrained generational ignorance and stupidity" ?! Do you mean ingrained generational trauma? Oopsie, your emotional commitment to ignorance is showing.

"Do you mean ingrained generational trauma?"

Not at all.

Trauma, especially ingrained generational trauma, is a terrible terrible thing.

Thinking people of different races are better simply because of their race, well that's "ingrained generational ignorance and stupidity" and is a prejudice that fuels an emotional commitment to ignorance.

Just thinking about this a little more. I'm a bit puzzled by the comment.  If you have a talented student, are you saying they should remain here for family reasons and not experience the rest of the world with its better education and opportunities? Or something else?

How did you get to "Should"? I was just answering your question, "What motivation is there for locals to come back?" You sure are contentious.

"You sure are contentious"

"I was just answering your question"

I find nothing contentious in his question. I too was going to ask you the same thing.

You could have just answered it by saying that you were answering his question.

But no, you had to turn it into you being pugnacious.

I was asking about your post (Kallianna) and how it is relevant, i.e., what does your post about family and friends have anything to do with the bleeding of local talent away from the islands? Yes, they have family and friends to come back to but, in general, that is not happening. Nothing contentious there, it was a simple question.

Okay, thatʻs it. Going on a 30 day Punatalk vacation. Maybe by then the need to bicker about everything will have passed. Maybe Julie will learn not to butt in to every conversation. Maybe Tom will stop nit-picking everything. Maybe The Idiot will go away. Have fun everybody.
