I remember back in the day, radio station 92.3 FM KGON in Oregon used to have a "Brew 92" promotion where during the summer when the temp hit 92 degrees or higher, you could get a 6-pack of Beer Beer for 92 cents at 7/11. The irony here is that a truly generic beer, literally called "Beer" got the pseudo brand name "Brew 92".
I'm not diving into the beer flavoring part of this thread, but I'll dip my toes a little bit. I've brewed my share of beer in my days, and there is a huge difference between using something as an ingredient and using something as a flavoring. If one is strictly a Reinheitsgebot type, at some point mustard beer can only be defined as mustard with beer added to it, or else you can call it something else, but you can't call it beer.
