Protests in Hilo - Next on April 19th - and going on elsewhere in Hawaii

Not sure why you think there is any "wink wink nod nod" involved - every major social movement tends to have a radical wing that makes the moderate calls for reform more palatable. For every Frederick Douglass there is a John Brown, for Kue Petitions a Wilcox Rebellion, for Thoreau a Goldman, for MLK Jr a Malcolm X. Seems somewhat immature to not recognize this trend, maybe as naive as to deny that when you send chickens out in the Puna morning air from your coop, those chickens return that evening to your coop, not your neighbor's coop, and that never makes one sad, only glad (see fellow kids, that is how you wink and nod Wink

Durian Fiend - I'm also disappointed in a certain, fairly prominent politician sharing his glee publicly regarding Tesla's tanking stock value.  Many people are glad to see it, including me, but in his position this sentiment is best kept private IMO.
But divestment is about making any association with or support for the target issue publicly undesirable. As Alex Winter has said, Tesla's investors could address this and pressure Musk to step down but the brand's value is closely tied to Musk's rep and hype (e.g. fully self-driving cars only months away for the last several years) so they may be tied to a sinking ship. Combine this public disdain for Musk with insurance costs for Teslas going up, some difficulties and cost  with large repairs (even moreso with the cost of newly tariffed replacement parts) especially locally (car sent back to Oahu),  and it's not a surprise that lots of people are publicly parting ways like Sheryl Crow.

Obie - Why do you keep popping up with the latest news from MSNBC national news
??? Must have missed Maddow - did she get a quote from Ron Vera? Maybe some coverage for Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz announcing he’s expanding his holds on White House nominees to include more names? Seems like a reasonable and very grown up form of protest, leaving the wrenching to the good and always curious monkeys.

Thank you Yak.  I was trying to assume the best.  I stand corrected. I am now disappointed that full-throated support for domestic terrorism has been allowed to stand on Punaweb in this thread.

How do you Powerwall owners in Puna, many of whom have outed yourselves here on Punaweb, feel about Yak wanting his Brownshirts to make an example out of you, your home and Powerwall because it's "about making any association with or support for the target issue publicly undesirable"?
I wish you all the best

The first step is attempting to understand what you just posted—just my opinion. For instance, what does "Powerall" mean in this context?

OK, Punatang is posting about Tesla Powerwall users and those who have outed themselves. WTF? Then there's brownshirt crap. And then "about making any association with or support for the target issue publicly undesirable"? After all of that, who has outed themself?

If you understand gibberish, feel free to translate.

Punatang is implying that Ironyak was condoning the destruction of any Tesla product for the purpose of your bolded text above.  I didn't read it that way.  Rather, he is fine with any high profile public criticism of Musk, including the use of mockery and schadenfreude.

Anyone have a used Powerwall they want to sell me for cheap?   Big Grin

Never let a crisis go to waste Durian Fiend.  You're a genius.  There will no doubt be some amazing deals out there on anything "associated with the target issue" as empathetic parties cheer on the destruction of their terrified neighbor's hard earned property. What could go wrong?

Dear Santa,  The Punatangs have been extra good this year. Please bring us three Powerwalls, 2 Starlinks (fixed and RV style please), and a Cybertruck in a pear tree.
I wish you all the best

Dude, that's gotta be one big pear tree!

I, personally, am of the mind that anything to do with our white gods and the crap they foist upon us should be added to their funeral pyres.

Word is, those cybertrucks burn hot!

Mo betta to fry da buggah, eh?

What about those who cheer on the destruction of health care coverage for those in need, or food assistance, or science research, or our leader of education who touts the benefits of A1 Steak Sauce (Google “AI A1” for the news source of your choice) in schools… that’ll help the kids in Pahoa and Keaau.

Not sure I have any brown shirts - mostly just aloha prints and thrifted tees really.

Your obession with calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi while cheering the movement of a "new generation of voters in the right" direction towards an administration that dismisses honorable service members from the military, illegally deports people, guts civil services that millions of people rely on, including those here in Hawaii, such as Veterans Affairs, SSA, and Medicaid and then posts laughing emojis and Nazi puns in response to criticism is something else - pretty rich, enough to be eaten, even without "A1".

As for Tesla products bought before Elon's politics were well known, it reminds me of what previous South Africans were selling - sure you might have got those shiny emeralds and krugerrands "before" it was widely unpopular, but at some point you probably want to think about what harms your choices are supporting. While lithium burns hot, stripping Tesla and its products for parts to repurpose probably also fits the bill - some of those panels are overly easy to remove apparently.

Tesla Takedown protests happening twice a week in Waikiki on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Hilo event - Saturday April 19th, 10am to Noon, grassy area next to Ross
Bring those ukuleles and other instruments and donations for Hilo's Food Basket
