Where is the welcome wagon? OK I'll go for it! Welcome Peg and also to your Cory! My partner and love is also a radio type person. People from Oregon have an extraordinary range and amount of hobbies! I worked for a CA telephone company my entire corporate life! It is a small world isn't it!
So welcome to you who isn't there yet from another one who isn't there yet, but I visit very often! It is a fine forum and loads of great info as you know!

Aloha,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for all the useful information on this sight. My name is Tony and my wife's name is Liza. We presently live in Atlanta GA, and are in the process of building on our lot in Vacationland.
We are not sure when we will make the permanent move over. We are both in our early forties and are entrenched in our careers. I'm a Chiopractor and my wife is in corporate America in the high tech sales and financing sector. I'm hapa..Caucasion American/Filipino and my wife is Filipino. We grew up on the main land but feel culturally we really fit into the Hawaiian lifestyle.
Looking forward to meeting you all someday...When is the next Punawebb party?

Aloha Tony. My husband & I are in Atlanta. We have a lot in Seaview. Let's have a Punaweb in Atlanta party! We used to have them a lot here but everyone in the old crew has moved over to the BI except my husband & me. Now we have to go all the way to Puna for our parties! We live in-town just outside of Little Five Points. Let us know if you'd like to get together and we can plan something. Maybe even throw a message out on the board and see how many other Atlantans are on here.

Aloha Punagirl, yeah we would love to get together. We love to talk about Hawaii, but our friends and family are getting tired of listening to us..LOL.
I can understand why your still here if you live near little five points...great place to live. We have been Gwinnettians for the last five years, but we both grew up in Atlanta and we used to live in Brookhaven. Yeah, let's plan a puna party in Atlanta!!! My email is drb@charter.net or give me a call, cell 770-313-0558.
Best, Tony

Welcome Tony. We moved from Chamblee. Were were part of that group that abandoned Aimee and Bob but welcome seeing them when they visit BI. I think there is another Atlanta person (Monty?) looking to moving here.

Mahalo and Aloha David, I grew up in Brookhaven and Chamblee. One of our fears about permanently moving to the BI is the distance from family and friends, but knowing people with Atlanta connections may help with that. How was the transition? Got any tips? Looking forward to an Atlanta Puna party in Puna! LOL.

Well Tony, we've been getting together since late 2002 if memory serves, both in Atlanta and here on BI. Currently still 4 families of that group here on Hiloside and 3 on Konaside. 2 others moved back mainland already, and 1 lost contact. There is at least 1 other PWebber with Atlanta connections - JerryCarr. For us the transition was great, but then to us, this IS home, always felt like coming home every time the plane landed. I had lived Oahu 4 years and always hoped to return. As for family and friends, we've had more of them visit here more often the last 5 years than the 14 years (Yankee, not damned Yankee) we lived in Atlanta.
Tips? - flexibility. Some might say this island will test you, that perhaps the island itself or Pele, decides who makes it here. Best of luck in this great adventure.

Hello,
I'm Steve, been stalking the site for some time now. Been reading allot and preparing myself for the move. As my handle says. I once was a Sniper for the US Army, C 1-15 3RD INF. Spent enough time in the middle east. Did my thing and made it home somewhat in tack. I'm medical retired now. Was Airborne and all that other crazy stuff. I'm disable, and get around pretty well.
I'm currently living in northern Cali. Will be moving to Puna sometime this spring. Should be in the Hawaiian Acres area. Been looking at a few places. Was just over there in May. Had a great time and met allot of new friends. I was shocked at how nice everyone was to me. Not that I had any bad thoughts coming over, but very warm people. Loved all the different farmers markets and loved that beach park with the boat ramp and all the sights.
Well, I better cut this short, because I can write a book. Love the site and there seems to be allot of nice people here and tons of good info.
Take care,
Steve
